Just Imagine Auction 2007 to Benefit St.
Helena Public Schools
St.
Helena, CA, The St. Helena Unified
School Districts combined Parent-Teacher
Groups today announced that the annual
Just Imagine Auction fundraising event
will be held Saturday, January 27, 2007,
6:00 p.m. at the Trinchero Family Estates,
100 Main Street, St. Helena.
The 2007 theme will be “Harmonious
learning above and beyond". Proceeds
from auction will be distributed to the
four St. Helena public schools for educational
programs. The 2006 auction raised more
than $350,000 which primarily helped enhance
science, technology, and reading programs
through out the district.
“ This will be the third year that
the parent teacher groups have collaborated
to create a magical evening benefiting
the children of our public schools,"
said Susan Collins, auction Co-Chair,
“We are so fortunate to have exceptionally
generous donors, talented and committed
volunteers, and great district support.
We are all looking forward to an even
more successful auction this year."
Original student artwork illustrating
the harmonious learning theme will be
available for sale at the auction, as
will rare wine lots, exclusive winery
and restaurant dinners, exotic trips,
and more. An example of one of the most
exclusive 2007 Just Imagine lots is a
60 gallon barrel of wine, whose juice
will be donated from six St. Helena appellation
wineries. The wine will be made at Spottswoode
Vineyard Estate and Winery by revered
Winemaker, Rosemary Cakebread. The wine
will then be bottled with a label created
by a St. Helena High School art student.
There will be magnificent wines featured
from Philipe Melka, Screaming Eagle, Bond
and Caymus Vineyards, as well as many
other prestigious Napa Valley wineries.
Several Wineries have also donated exclusive
dinners with wines including Harlan Estates,
Spotswoode Vineyard Estate, and the Sattui
Castle. Additionally there will be a number
of unusual lots such as a full acre of
vineyard planted on a bidder?s property,
and an exotic international vacation,
to name a few.
This year during the live auction, there
will be another special lot called “Fund-A-Need",
this lot is dedicated to raising monies
for a specific academic cause. Last year
the Fund-A-Need lot provided more than
$61,000 for science related programs.
This year the parent group hopes to equal
or exceed that figure to help pay for
the resources needed visual and performing
arts programs at all four schools.
